Overview

Our client is an International trade finance organisation with an established London office. This innovative organisation has a network of International offices spread across US, Asia, South America and Europe. It has an excellent reputation within the Trade Finance world, and now seeks a further junior associate 2-3yearsPQE to join the highly ranked team. The role will be responsible for providing legal support to the trade finance business and the Global Transaction Services. The legal team work very closely with the business and act as proactive, solutions focused problem solvers as well as general legal advisors. With a focus on trade finance, their deals are heavily structured, complex and bespoke so your role will be interesting and challenging requiring strong research and drafting skills. Working on a broad mix of work from client transactions to strategic projects you will be a quick thinking banking & finance lawyer You will have some previous exposure to trade finance transactions, although this could be via a secondment . Most important is your personality fit - you will be flexible, energetic and commercially aware, with the desire to get stuck in and learn quickly. Skills/Duties: UK qualified Lawyer (or equivalent) 2-3 years PQE Ideally In-house legal experience of trade finance, and who enjoys regular interaction with Sales & Trading and experience of dealing with senior management level Excellent written and verbal communication skills Provide advice and preparation of transactional documentation relating to trade finance including: - Invoice discounting, supply chain finance, receivables finance Traditional trade import and export letters of credit, confirmation, discounting bills, etc; guarantees, standby letters of credit, and related bilateral facilities and documentation Advise the business on cross-border issues Experienced with structured products and derivatives documentation Familiar with negotiating distribution agreements and licence agreements
