Overview

Job Summary We're working with an award-winning food service Company based in North London who are looking for a qualified Management Accountant/Finance Manager to oversee the accounts of the Company. To be considered, you will possess a professional accounting qualification, and have post qualification work experience to work along with the senior management team. You must also have experience in management accounts, ideally in a wholesale/retail/logistics environment, possess strong communication skills and commercial awareness. Responsibilities and Duties Produce monthly management accounts and narratives Take ownership of accruals and prepayments Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts Prepare and review of quarterly VAT return to be submitted to external accountants. Ensure sales are reported and processed weekly Review payment runs prepared by accountant team member Review and ensure the accuracy of the entries of the accountant team member Produce weekly cash flow forecasts Mentor development of accountant team member Assist with preparation of R&D Tax Credit claims Create, implement and monitor processes and procedures around the creation of monthly forecasts. Prepare periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries. Implement corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls. Prepare spreadsheets with regard to the costs assigned to jobs. Complete Governmental National Statistics enquiry information. Maintain evidence of continuing professional development (CPD). Manage income and expenditure, sales, payroll and stocks. Offer professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways to improve business performance. Liaise with other Managers to put the finance view in context. Safeguard tangible and intangible assets. Bank reconciliation of statements, preparing cash books. Qualifications and Skills Experience working in wholesale, retail or distribution. Must hold a professional accounting qualification. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Good oral and written communication skills The ability to work as part of a team Excellent analytical and numerical abilities Sound business knowledge Experience in the food distribution industry is favourable Excellent communication and influencing skills with leadership potential Highly motivated and able to work under pressure Proficient with Ms Office, especially Excel.
