Overview
Tenant Support Coordinator Based in Kingston Upon Thames area Salary £23,000 - £26, 500 per annum We are currently recruiting for a Tenant Support Coordinator. In this role you will work alongside the Tenant Support team to provide an office based support service to tenants in supported housing and support them with Housing Benefit claims and enabling them to maintain their tenancies. Person Specification: - Ideally the candidate must have housing benefit knowledge Ideally working knowledge of support or care work in a housing, social care or work background Great communication skills – both written and verbal Excellent MS office skills – Word and Excel Desirable if you have an understanding on Universal Credit Excellent Administration skills Key Responsibilities: - To provide a support service to tenants and to understand their needs and aspirations To liaise with all agencies (families, social services, care providers and appointee services) to gather evidence and information to enable a housing benefit claim to be submitted as soon as possible after being advised of the tenant’s move Where possible/necessary, to secure housing related support agreements with commissioning bodies or tenants in receipt of direct payments, prior to move in To liaise with other support providers regarding new tenants and to develop and maintain the New Tenancy Tracking document accordingly. To prepare Tenancy Agreements, Housing Related Support Agreements, HB application forms and other documentation relating to the tenancy sign-up process, ensuring the tenancy process is adhered to as closely as possible To monitor all housing benefit notices both postal and online notices, to ensure the correct benefit is being received. Investigate any shortfalls, errors and anomalies with the tenant, appointee, care provider or family and advise the relevant Housing Benefit Authority accordingly. To support the accounts department in dealing with any other financial issues resulting from HB shortfalls and overpayments. To schedule visits for the Tenant Support Officers to tenants, attend best interest meetings and advise the tenants/agencies accordingly. To maintain the Tenancy tracking document with information relating to new and existing tenants. File all relevant information on the tenant and property in the shared digital file and update RHAD with changes to tenants and support provider information. To actively encourage feedback from tenants on the quality of the service by regular dialogue and the issuing and analysis of annual surveys. To communicate with and work in partnership with other support providers to ensure that schemes run effectively and to resolve any maintenance or support issues. Communicate with support providers and tenants who may be at risk of breaching their tenancy with unacceptable behaviour. Be responsible for the setting up of payment methods by tenants of the service charge e.g. standing orders. With the assistance of accounts department monitor the payments and resolve any non-payment issues
