Based in Glasgow you will be working on programmes in Scotland, ensuring that key subcontractors are engaged early to unlock supply chain value and drive out waste through supporting and contributing to such initiatives as; standard solutions, digital delivery optimisation and driving business simplification. You will report directly to the Head of Procurement and the responsibilities will include: · Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with the Client and other project stakeholders (internal and external). · Manage and resolve any actual or potential conflicts with the Client or project stakeholders. · Develop and maintain effecting communication, collaborative relationships and coordination with other parts of the business (internal suppliers etc.) · Assess current and future resource requirements, ensuring plans are devised and implemented to overcome gaps, and capacity issues. · Manage the effective and efficient allocation of resources to projects and tenders. · Support the recruitment process to on-board direct, consultant and contingent workers to meet forecasted requirements. · Support the development and growth of individuals by acting as a coach and or mentor. · Manage the overall procurement function. Influence the procurement of sub-contracts at programme level, the procurement of direct/indirect materials, plant and services. · Develop key strategic relationships both upstream and with our supply chain to unlock value add initiatives. · Selecting / advising / guiding the teams to select the right supply chain for the delivery strategy · Working with the supply chain to unlock efficiency and innovation and develop their capability to help us all deliver better value for our customers and developing their capability to provide best value overall. Qualifications Essential · Several year’s relevant experience of supply chain experience in the Construction or Utilities industry, · Professional qualification to degree level, preferably in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Procurement or related field · Membership of CIPS · Demonstrable supply chain experience in embedding programme-based procurement solutions. · Ability to develop strategic supplier relationships · Strong business acumen and track record of delivering efficiencies. · Supplier relationship management · Strategic planning abilities · Able to manage and inspire direct reports to excel in the work place, ensuring that direct reports are developed in accordance with the needs of the Business Plan.
