Overview

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Relief Support Workers to join our team in Rustington. We currently provide support to 7 people, with ages ranging from 33 to 74 - which offers a variety of personalities and experiences for the team to get to know The people we support at the service require a high level of support in all areas of their lives - from personal care and medication through to learning new skills and developing friendships. All tasks which require thoughtful and positive person centred support, something we hold ourselves to. Being a Relief Support Worker gives you the opportunity to work the shifts you want, when you want which allows flexibility around childcare, studying or other work commitments. Shifts include 07:00 to 14:30 and 14:00 to 21.30 and sleep in's (sleep in pay rate is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements) You will need to support the people at the service with mobility, eating & drinking, positive behaviour routines, and medication so training will be provided for this as part of your induction. Furthermore, you will learn how to communicate with the people we support through pictures, videos and body language - as communication is of the upmost importance. You will also support the people at the service in living as independently as possible, whilst being actively involved in their community. The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities including listening to music, going to the cinema and going to the theatre - who doesn't like being entertained? Teamwork and family involvement are the backbones of the service, with the team often looking for new ways to fulfil the wants and needs of the people we support - you could be just the person we are looking for to support new ways of being active and having fun As a Relief Support Worker, all you'll need to have is a positive attitude and a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability.
