Key responsibilities Program coding Program design / specification Program debugging / fixing Automated test coding / test execution UI/UX design / prototyping Database design / data modelling / implementation Technical specifications, guides, and testing documentation Working with co-workers & customers Essential Strong programming and problem-solving skills Both academic & personal (or commercial) programming experience Experienced in multiple programming languages Able to pick up new programming languages quickly Strong grasp of programming constructs and Boolean logic Understanding data structures & data processing techniques Ability to work individually or as part of a team Advantageous (optional) Strong mathematics background Mobile app programming experience Clinical experience (medical, doctor, ophthalmology, clinical, or research environments or solutions) Qualifications Degree (or aggregate equivalent or diploma with solid programming background) in any-one of the following disciplines: computer science, programming/coding, mathematics, or other science discipline About you You are a strong programmer/coder with experience using several programming languages. You have a firm grasp of programming constructs, data structures, algorithms and Boolean logic, and easily pick up new programming languages. You have excellent problem-solving skills and can easily break down complex tasks into manageable programming steps. You have a keen interest in best practice user interface, database, and program design and implementation. You have experience coding for both your academic studies and personal (or commercial) projects, e.g. coding outside of college/university. You are self-motivated, keen to learn new skills and techniques, and can work by yourself or as part of a team. About us You will be working as part of a team with very experienced business and technical colleagues to deliver sophisticated healthcare applications to the NHS. You will be encouraged to work closely with colleagues to further your professional development with self-learning, training courses, and professional certification.
