Job Summary: Our Corby based client are currently looking for a smart, experienced and enthusiastic Operations Manager, to join a rapidly growing team. The role will be based at the clients office in Corby, helping to build the UK's best used car buying experience. Our clients mission is to transform the way people buy used cars. No more long trips to view the car, no more high-pressure sales tactics and haggling, no more compromises on colour or features due to limited selection and no more short test-drives or expensive surprises down the road. Our Client will ultimately become one of the leading volume buyers of used car stock in the UK and this role is therefore critical to ensure that our end to end operational processes will successfully deliver large volumes of quality cars to our Customers. Working on the ground within our supply partners operation this role will work collaboratively to ensure the speed, efficiency and cost per unit of each vehicle processed meets our exacting quality standards. Being highly analytical and data driven is essential within this role as is a significant process reengineering mindset and the ability to work within a fast paced business that will transform automotive retailing in the UK. What you'll be doing: Ensure that all vehicles purchased by the client, meet the clients own agreed criteria before entering the production process. Ensure that vehicles are quickly inspected to enable us to flag and reject any ‘non-disclosed' damage, contrary to the supplier purchase documentation. Monitor & audit the end-to-end vehicle inspection process conducted by our supply partner. Utilise the clients & partner reporting suite, focussing on inspection & refurbishment cycle time, refurbishment quality, re-work & cost per unit at a granular level Ensure that our supply partner is achieving all agreed SLA's & KPI's for the production process & where necessary agree corrective actions to bring inline Identify ongoing efficiencies & methods of working, cost reduction initiatives and required changes to the clients retail Standard 150 point check to drive performance Work with the clients outsourced partner to drive the QA & QC process to minimise failures and where required undertake root cause analysis to understand how and where QC failures occurred then applying the learning Mapping detailed end to end processes and keeping the process map up to date with iterations Key skills required: Significant process improvement experience in a leadership role Proven organisational skills and effective communicator. Proven ability to successfully liaise and negotiate with external partners Experience of leading in a volume environment, which ideally has an element of outsourcing Experience of applying total quality management within a manufacturing / production environment to successfully improve and optimise key quality measures. Proven ability to process map and re-engineer as required using relevant methodologies (for example Lean or Six Sigma) Highly analytical, using data to generate insight Microsoft Office/Google Suite – Intermediate experience, particularly Excel/Numbers.
