Overview

QA Tester who wants to go in to Development required for my Reading based client for a permanent role paying circa £40-55k DOE The role will require you to work closely with current Developers, develop scripts and push automation. My client is seeking someone who stems from a Testing background who has an interest in moving more towards a Developer in the future. You will be working closely with the Development team and the Head of QA to develop scripts and develop code and that allows the manual testers to test. You will be given a lot of flexibility to decide how you operate and what methods you use to carry out the relevant tasks. You will be accountable for ensuring that software releases from are of high quality, deliver on all identified test requirements, fit for purpose and successfully complete on all types of testing. You will need to have experience as an API automation tester with strong coding skills in either java or C++, and at least one scripting language such as bash, ruby, python, perl. You will need to be a team player who can work within Agile development teams to deliver new types of testing and test strategies to deliver improvements on the quality of all software deliverables. You will be expected to be involved in some manual test efforts to support the existing QA team to deliver on testing requirements where automation is not possible. You will need to have previous experience in both manual and automation software testing and will be able to prioritise the areas of functionality requiring automation and identify and document appropriate test cases in detail, including negative tests and boundary conditions. Responsibilities: Driving and developing the test automation strategy building on a proprietary API testing tool. Delivering on targets to deliver increased levels of automated test coverage Driving the automation objectives and strategy of the QA function Working with development teams to add automation tests to the test requirements of projects. Write detailed test plans / automation test scripts from project user stories written by the product owners and developers Involvement in agile project initiation to define testing strategies and to develop new testing types and methods.
