Senior Legal Counsel Our client is a leading UK Telecommunications company that are committed to providing high quality products and services. I am currently recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team who are both supportive and collaborative. Location Hammersmith Days Working 4 days a week Tuesday - Friday (9:30am - 5:30pm), flexible working 1 day working from home or one of the other offices (Reading) Contract Up to 6 months Job Overview To be responsible for providing advice to the People Team, Case Team and relevant business stakeholders on employment law matters, including employee disputes, employment contracts and policy interpretation, general employee advisory support, transactional support including TUPE, advice in connection with consultations, settlement agreements and overseeing litigation and liaising with external counsel on litigation as required. Key Responsibilities Partners with the business, identifying risk and escalating where appropriate (recommending mitigation strategies and implementing solutions) Manages upwards, keeping the Head of Legal, Employment and General Counsel as necessary informed about important issues, able to present clearly and precisely to senior stakeholders, enabling others to understand the key facts and issues Maintains the necessary independence and integrity of a legal advisor. Ensures quality of service and work output is maintained to the highest standards Stays up to date with legal developments Experience and personal attributes Recognised expert in non-contentious employment law (with experience in employee benefits, pensions, share schemes and collective consultation matters a plus), with at least eight years of post-qualification experience, and deep knowledge of subject area and excellent negotiating and drafting skills Ability to advise on TUPE transfers, including working with the business to find solutions and advising where required on commercial agreements Diplomatic and highly articulate: analyses complex legal and commercial issues, develops strategies and communicates points constructively and succinctly. Proven discretion and ability to deal with sensitive issues and to influence at all levels. Self-sufficient and proactive in proposing commercial solutions to clients and colleagues; acts as business adviser.
