Overview

Role Undertake fire risk assessments within the related portfolio of buildings under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This will mainly involve desktop reviews of relevant fire documentation (e.g., existing fire risk assessment reports; existing fire safety strategy reports; fire drawings etc.) as well as site visits for carrying out the fire risk assessments and fire safety audits and supporting the fire safety and Compliance discipline within the Group. Responsibilities Ensure compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings are delivered with regards to Fire Safety (including all associated items) and other associated safety procedures Carrying out regular site visits for conducting Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Related Inspections, including the identification and categorisation of building condition and defects of Active and Passive Fire Protection systems Development of Fire Risk Assessment reports; Hazard Identification Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with nationally recognised standards (PAS79) under our BAFE SP205 Accreditation Attendance of internal team meetings and external team meetings with contractors Assessment and understanding of the main British fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings, such as; but not limited to: Approved Document B (AD B), BS9999, BS7974 Supporting on the development of Fire Safety Strategy reports for Premises Undertake post completion surveys following completed fire related works Support other Compliance Delivery Team members as appropriate Skills and Knowledge Good written and oral communication skills and strong ability to adjust communication to suit wide range of people, including people with no previous fire safety knowledge Effective use of IT and media as appropriate Demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety at an operational level Demonstrable knowledge of the Building Regulations, Disabled Access, Fire, CDM and Health & Safety Legislation Knowledge and experience of preparing comprehensive fire related work specifications and work designs to a high standard including an extensive knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) Order 2005 Extensive experience of carrying out Fire Risk Assessments to PAS79 standard, with an understanding of Active Fire Protection (AFP) and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) systems Recent experience in conducting fire risk assessments and fire safety audits; and writing fire risk assessment reports, with an understanding of the concept of "As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)" Desirable experience of carrying out other types of surveys, such as on-site inspections of installed fire doors and fire stopping in existing or new buildings Qualifications and Training Must hold a Fire Risk Assessors and Auditors qualifications which should be recognised by a professional institution, such as FPA, IFE etc. and have at least 5 years demonstrable experience in the Fire Safety Sector A current full UK driving licence
