Test Engineer Purpose of the Job: Directly support in the development of its technology and associated balance of plant. Provide test capability for verification, validation and development testing. Ensure auditable data is produced in line with company quality processes. Maintain and, where appropriate, modify test equipment. Work closely with development engineering and scientists to determine test objectives, and develop and execute test plans rigorously and safely to schedule. Provide line management for Test Engineers and support the Test Operations Manager with test scheduling and planning. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will directly support the development of the technology by providing test capability for verification, validation and development testing. The successful candidate for this position will lead a small team of Test Engineers to execute test programmes safely and to schedule. Recruitment Brief – Key Responsibilities: Design and development of test stands to meet reliability objectives, including ensuring compliance with electrical regulations and standards. Support the Test Operations Manager with test scheduling and planning. Develop and execute test plans. Review and analyse test data. Produce test reports and present findings and recommendations. Provide accurate daily updates to test management. Lead fault finding activities, issue investigations and improvement projects. Work package planning. Career Experience – this section highlights the experience previously gained through undertaking and delivering various projects, key duties, achievements and knowledge ESSENTIAL Minimum of 4 years post graduate industrial experience Ability to visualise and summarise data, perform basic sense checking, identify inconsistencies and perform basic thermodynamic calculations, e.g. efficiency, simple heat balances. Ability to read and produce technical documents including mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and P&IDs. Industrial experience DESIRABLE Working knowledge of test automation software, e.g. LabView. Experience of planning and carrying out testing. Experience of working with hazardous gases. Knowledge of heat transfer, control systems, electronics and instrumentation Knowledge of chemical and thermodynamic processes, control systems and instrumentation. Education, Training & Skills – Degree, A Levels and professional qualifications including subjects studied BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng level in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or similar. Ability to produce risk assessments and other similar safety tools, e.g. HAZID, HAZOP and FMEA. Chartered Engineer or on track to achieve Chartered status Experience of software coding, e.g. Visual Basic, Python Strength, Talents, Abilities & Aptitudes – this section highlights the desired attributes that you will require to successfully deliver in this role Ability to plan and manage work packages. Sound report writing skills and the ability to communicate results and deliver presentations to colleagues and management. Grasp new concepts quickly and develop a good working knowledge of products and their operation.
