Overview
Rutherford Briant are currently recruiting for a Junior Legal Councel position within a fast-growing company in Basildon. The successful candidate will report directly into the Head of Commercial Legal and will also work directly with the General Councel. The role will involve providing first line support to internal teams across the group of companies with regular exposure to senior stakeholders within the business. For the Junior Legal Councel position, their ideal candidate would be a solicitor or barrister (with 1-3 years PQE) who has worked on or supported more senior legal advisers on complex commercial matters including distribution and licensing agreements. Junior Legal Councel Responsibilities Negotiating, drafting and supporting on a broad range of commercial contracts, including the following; Distribution, Logistics and Licensing Agreements General Service Agreements Regulatory Agreements Supply Chain Agreements Amendments to existing legal contracts Drafting and advising internal stakeholders on the content of confidentiality agreements and granting powers of attorney to external agents Supporting on high value multi-national M&A transactions Supporting with the management of an extensive global trademark portfolio Providing legal advice and guidance to the wider business on ad hoc legal issues and business projects, on a supervised basis Assist with the maintenance of centralised legal contracts database Provide support to other team members, as required Performs other duties as required or assigned Junior Legal Councel Accountabilities Requires theoretical and practical knowledge across the legal function Supports in provision of risk-based legal advice to the business Supports on the resolution of issues impacting the direction of the business Performs legal review and analysis to ensure contracts are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations Adds strategic value and collaborates with others to meet the business goals and objectives Reviews and monitors relevant case law, legal updates and trade sanction regulations Junior Legal Councel Ideal Requirements UK Qualified Lawyer, ideally between NQ - 2yearsPQE Commercial contracts experience Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages Experience supporting senior legal advisers on complex commercial work Negotiation skills Entrepreneurial mind Demonstrative research skills Knowledge of trademark law would hight support your application
