Overview

In response to the unprecedented events we are currently experiencing due to the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, at this time we will be conducting our interviews via video calls. We are looking for Male Support Workers in Hatfield to cover various shifts from part time and relief. We offer fantastic benefits, training and a great team environment. We are looking for people who share our values and can support someone to have the life they want to live. We are supporting a young man in his 20's with autism in Hertfordshire. He is very active and enjoys swimming, sailing, bike riding, long walks and theme parks with a thrill for the scary rides. He likes to travel (usually abroad) every year, loves computer games and action hero movies and enjoys fun fairs and music festivals. This role will involve managing challenging behaviours. You will be supporting his needs to help him develop the skills to be independent. You will prompt with personal care and be active in assisting with his household tasks. Whilst this service is 1:1 support, be prepared to work flexibly as you will be part of a wider support team. This could include working some weekends, waking nights/sleep ins and bank holidays. Shift patterns can vary from 7am/-2pm/ 8am-3pm/ 3pm-10pm/ long days. This will be discussed with you during the interview process. To be considered for this opportunity you will need to hold a full UK/EU driving licence/be able to drive a manual car and have access to a vehicle. This is a part time position and we can offer a range of hours from as little as 7.5 hours per week. The current rate of pay for this role is £8.70 per hour and will be increasing to £8.72 per hour from 1st April 2020.
