Overview
Supplier Quality Engineer - PCBs Based in Cambridge the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be joining a high-tech electronics company. The position will be focused on the full supply chain process. The successful candidate may have some experience in the management of an international, technically orientated supply chain, along with the following: In-depth knowledge of electro-mechanical manufacturing processes & control; Surface Mount Assembly, injection moulding (PC & TPE), mechanical assembly and inspection. Previous experience within an engineering-based quality role. Additionally, supplier quality, product and process audit, SPC and data analysis. Experience with internal and external audits Good level of understanding of best practices across industries and how to apply relevant scalable processes Also desirable: Good technical knowledge of PCBs Experience working with Asian suppliers ISO9001:2015 audit experience Knowledge and practical use of six sigma methodology and tools to improve manufacturing processes (six sigma Yellow belt) The SQE will be responsible for providing data, analysis, and feedback on existing issues, trends, and developments. They will need to ensure that various actions are ordered in their significance and improved through root-cause analysis. The actions you make will need to be corrective, sustainable and cost-effective. Other responsibilities will include evaluating and suggesting process improvements with external suppliers, thereby guaranteeing products are manufacturable long term. There will also be a focus on suppliers’ audits, leading process improvement projects, and ensuring suppliers have a documented quality control plan in place. There will be some overseas travel associated with this position (to Europe and Asia).A nd be aware that you will need to be qualify for UK Security Clearance. Salary to £40k benefits
