Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Competitive Salary Benefits – Rutherglen, Glasgow The Role SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support front end, installation, maintenance and life cycle business operations. The successful candidate will offer design innovation, technical support and risk-mitigation when necessary, to enhance the business offering, and de-risk mechanical engineering operations. The key responsibilities of a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer include, but are not limited to: Design development of all aspects of mechanical and public health engineering disciplines. Undertaking investigations and research to resolve design and technical issues, and develop new techniques to improve competitiveness of the business. Identify and de-risk design and technical issues through review of design information, site survey of ongoing works and ongoing liaison with installation teams. The Person The key skills and qualities of a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: Varied experience across the mechanical engineering disciplines, with detailed knowledge of key standards and principles; with experience in Condition Surveys, dilapidations surveys and building services problem solving. CEng or IEng (or willingness to achieve this within an agree timeframe); Membership of a professional body (CIBSE, IHEEM, IET etc.) Must have knowledge of AutoCad MEP/Autodesk Revit MEP; Hevacomp/IES/Amtech Must have a sound understanding of relevant standards including, CIBSE, SHTM/HTM, BSRIA, British Standards etc. Must be commercially aware and possess numerical skills.
