Overview

Orka Financial is working with a manufacturing business based in Staines Upon Thames to recruit a UK Accountant/Analyst. This will be a broad role with the UK accountant splitting their time between operating as a finance business partner to one of the companies manufacturing sites, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and KPI reporting. The other part of the role will see the UK accountant assisting the Head of finance with all financial reporting for the UK entity. This will be a brilliant role for a part qualified accountant looking to develop their skills in all areas of finance whilst also taking on a higher level of responsibility when looking after the manufacturing site. Responsibilities: - To assist the Head of Finance exercise financial control over the manufacturing site and the UK entity. To contribute to the production of financial statements and management accounts for both companies. - To ensure banks are reconciled to SAP, queries are resolved and all cash transactions are accounted for correctly. To prepare cash forecasts for submission to group, maintain domestic cash balances and reconcile intercompany loan accounts. - To maintain the balance sheet accounts and ensure that clear reconciliations are available to the Head of Finance. - Prepare accruals and prepayments for the manufacturing site at month end prior to month end closing and reporting. - Prepare Cognos monthly and quarterly reporting. - Agree monthly inter-co balances. - Prepare monthly cost centre reports for internal management and subsequent investigation of variances. - Question weekly kg/manhourKPI. - Prepare UK VAT returns, Intrastat declarations and EC Sales lists and submit to HMRC. Liaise with HMRC Inspectors. Complete ONS data requests. - Follow up of auditor’s queries. - Accurately maintain fixed asset register . - Prepare annual budget submission for the manufacturing site. - Liaise with the external accountants in relation to corporation tax returns. Profiile: Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) or Qualified by experience. Manufacturing experience desirable. Strong analytical and IT skills particularly in excel. Good communication (verbal & written) with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the business. Ability and confidence to challenge the business when required Have a high level of personal motivation and initiative with the ability to work to tight deadlines. Actively seeks to improve processes making them more effective and efficient. A high level of attention to detail. Salary: £33,000 - £42,000 study support benefits
