Homicide Service Team Manager - Charity - PAN London Contact for this role at Tempest Resourcing is: John Clegg We have been commissioned by a charity to recruit a Team Manager to join their new Homicide Service . Our client will preferably consider candidates with previous or transferable experience in this area. This is a great opportunity to help build a new service , with the option of taking up the post permanently. This role is designed to deliver a specialist service to children and young people bereaved by homicide, and for those who have witnessed a homicide. This service forms part of a wider CYP service, supporting young people who have been a victim of crime, including a specialist Domestic Abuse service. Purpose of the job To ensure the needs of CYP bereaved through homicide are at the centre of all the services activities To manage a team of Homicide Caseworkers (HSCYP) to deliver a high quality, front-line service to eligible CYP who are bereaved through homicide To ensure implementation of all relevant aspects of Victim Support’s Quality Standards and Homicide Service CYP Operating Procedures To support the development and implementation of a Peer Support Service To monitor the welfare of the CYP Homicide Service staff and volunteers and their access to external supervision To ensure that the service in the CYP Homicide Service is delivered to budget To work collaboratively with the London Homicide Service Manager to support bereaved families To navigate the political landscape in London, and to be aware of the overlap of the work from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) Knowledge and Experience Working with bereaved people, victims of violent crime or other vulnerable people Proven track record of successfully delivering services for children and young people and successful youth engagement in a comparable role Experience of managing a team across a large geographic region Experience of developing positive partnerships and other professional relationships with external agencies Working with risk and needs’ assessment frameworks Experience of overseeing systems for evaluation and monitoring purposes Knowledge of bereavement services and other appropriate services Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and the impact of crime preferably experience of working within it Understanding and experience of case management principles High level experience of safeguarding in relation to children and young people Experience of working with commissioners and the ability to successfully navigate these relationships Experience of managing services where risks are present and the ability to support and guide the team to reduce and manage risks Data protection and confidentiality Please contact John Clegg for more information.
