Graduate Opportunity Classroom Support / General Teaching Assistant 3 positions available spanning key stage 1 & 2 Full-time with commitment for the academic year September 2020 Start Are you a recent graduate or perhaps graduating this year with your sights now set on building experience in a school setting? My client school is currently looking ahead to the next academic year with the aim to take on three ambitious graduates to work as teaching assistants for the academic year. An excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers to develop the necessary tools and experience required to move on to a PGCE, Teach First or School Direct programme in the future. This two form entry primary school based in the heart of London within walking distance of 2 tube Stations is the perfect playground for a driven graduate to become to work as a teaching assistant with commitment for the full academic year from this September. So what is the teaching assistant position? The school are looking for three dedicated individuals with a genuine passion for working with children and some previous experience in a supporting role with young people. As a General classroom support / teaching assistant your responsibilities will be: To provide continued support for the teacher within a chosen classroom for the academic year. To carry out one to one and small group intervention work with students. Providing tuition and booster sessions with pupils working at a lower ability or on the Special Educational Needs register. Guided Reading sessions and providing numeracy and literacy support. To aid the school where necessary becoming an integral part of the schools support team. The three positions available cover classes in both key stage 1 and key stage 2 and if successful in your teaching assistant application classes will be allocated dependent on your strengths and your wishes will be taken into account.
