Head of Charity Location : Portsmouth Temporary : Ongoing Hours per week : 37.5 hours per week Salary: £28 (Umbrella) or £24 per hour (PAYE) Skills & Experience : Educated to masters level or significant equivalent experience Experience Significant fundraising experience at a senior level Experience of developing communications strategies and building the profile of organisations among diverse audiences Evidence of knowledge and understanding of the charity, health care or research sectors, including grant giving, will be expected, and an evident ability to quickly assimilate the expertise required to provide effective and motivating support to the fundraising team Highly effective and persuasive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Duties : Within the frameworks set by the Board of Trustees, to ensure the Charity has a clear view of its purpose and a long-term strategy to sustain and increase its charitable support for the patients, staff and for all those in the local community served by the Trust. To design and deliver the Charity’s fundraising strategy, annual plan and performance objectives and measures. Responsible for ensuring that the Charity is run efficiently and effectively, that it complies fully with all requirements relating to charities To ensure that the Board of Trustees is given the information it needs to discharge its responsibilities, including reporting to the Board of Trustees on the performance of the Charity. To enable the Board of Trustees to reflect on the Charity’s governance arrangements, in the light of good practice codes relating to charities, and implementing improvements as agreed. Provide leadership and support to the Fundraising team in the implementation of a new fundraising strategy which will engage a broad range of audiences and potential donors and build sustainable pipeline of support Work closely with the Trust's staff and other stakeholders to identify projects suitable for charitable funding and which can be packaged attractively and appropriately for a range of donors responsible for ensuring that work across fundraising, marketing and communications is well integrated Ensure that approaches taken in fundraising meet best practice and regulatory requirements and agreed processes are in place to underpin them, delegated authorities adhered to and records maintained of decisions on grants
