Fancy a permanent role with all this current uncertainly in the world? My client at Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are looking to recruit. They are a unitary authority based in the heart of the town centre offering traditional seaside living that makes it a great place to live and work. This diverse and busy town has great public parks and leisure activities, competitive house pricing and excellent travel links. Your new role The Council are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and innovative social worker to join their friendly and established single point of access team in order to support citizens across Southend-on-Sea. This position will be to assess and safeguard citizens in the community at the first point of contact with social care. The team is integral in safeguarding citizens in Southend, preventing admission to hospital and ensuring that citizens are linked to their local communities. The team are required to ensure that individual strengths, assets and wishes are maximised and potential for independence is maximised.You need to be committed to actively supporting independence, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring vulnerable Southend residents are safeguarded against abuse. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you must be registered with Social Work England qualified and be at least 2 years post qualified as a social worker. Have a comprehensive knowledge of the Care Act, and other related legislation and policy, previous knowledge responsibility for assessing and safeguarding citizens, have experience as a practising social worker, have excellent organisational and relationship skills, have strong commitment to working in partnership and social care values You will join a supportive and strong team within Southend and will work closely with them in ensuring that we deliver excellent, high quality services and practice.What you'll get in return Join the council as a Social Worker and you can enjoy a range of benefits including: - flexible working, salary car sacrifice scheme and excellent training and development opportunities.
