Overview
How would you like to be part of a newly created finance team with an employer that is new to the North East but is by no means new to the world? Do you enjoy getting stuck in and consider yourself a 'hands on' accountant? I'm currently working with a manufacturing business that has recently opened a new business unit within the North East. Following an exciting contract win they are about to embark on a project that has never been done on this scale before. You'll be a numbers kind of accountant, getting involved from the ground up but also adaptable to stepping into the finance lead role when the current FC isn't on site. You'll be considered number 2 on site and will have a couple of junior finance staff reporting into you. The business is a manufacturer have a turnover of £40M and are known globally for the work they do. The project is due to launch early next year so they're requiring a Management Accountant pretty soon to get to grips with the role, plant and the commercial side. Initially you'll be involved in costings, and will work to ensure costs are kept tight, they're running trial products at the minute until the project goes live next year so you'll mostly deal with other managers to ensure the end product is the most cost effective. The management accounts are currently dealt with out of a site in Liverpool so there will be a handover period of sorts where travel will be involved. You'll be confident, this is a must as you'll be dealing with higher level management quite a lot, reporting & presenting due to the high profile nature of the project. Compliance is key, IFRS and SOX experience is a must, you'll also be qualified and have experience working within manufacturing. You'll have worked with SAP previously, or an ERP system similar as you'll be using this day to day.
