Overview
Are you a newly qualified or experienced GP looking for a flexible working environment? As a GP working in our Out of Hours Service, you will be responsible for performing telephone triage for patients who have been referred to the service. As a proactive GP with a passion for delivering timely, safe and excellent patient care, you will be supporting members of our communities to manage their own health at home and reduce the need to go into hospital. You will be assessing, investigating, diagnosing, planning and implementing care for patients presenting with a wide variety of different conditions both face to face and over the telephone. You will be a fully qualified GP with GMC registration and inclusion on the English Medical Performers List. You should also hold evidence of basic life support training and safeguarding children (L3) and adults (L1) training alongside annual appraisal and revalidation evidence. The Out of Hours service (OoHs) is open from 6.30pm – 8am, Monday – Friday, and 24 hours over the weekends, with various shifts on offer between these times. You will have the flexibility to choose when you would like to work in order to fit in with your lifestyle. We have countywide bases in Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Henley, Oxford and Witney. Our OoHs GPs work closely with our team of administrative Coordinators, Emergency Care Practitioners in our Minor Injuries Units and Hospital at Home Service to deliver patient care across the county. We are looking to grow a culture of team-working and skills sharing to deliver safe and responsive care to patients. The OoHs GPs also have access and opportunities to increase links with our Emergency Multidisciplinary Units (EMUs) in Abingdon and Witney and Rapid Access Care Unit (RACU) at Henley. For further details / informal visits contact: Matt Cadby, Operational Manager for OoHs and MIUs, on 07770331073, Kathryn Ruane, Clinical Lead Specialist on 07909530953 or Elaine Arnott , Senior Operational Manager, on 01865 903786.
