JOB SUMMARY To assist in the management of civil engineering projects / contracts, ensuring delivery and achievement of outcomes, in accordance with the requirements, standards and targets set in project agreements. To work with partners, sub-contractors, operatives and other professionals to support this process. KEY RESULT AREA Setting-out of works All works are set-out in accordance with contract drawings, setting out equipment, is checked, calibrated and maintained as necessary and supervision of works to ensure they are carried out to the correct dimensions Ensure quality in line with Company's QA procedures QA documentation (pre-pour inspections, drainage data sheets) are compiled, all material deliveries are compliant with the requisition, site filing system is maintained in accordance with project quality plan Compilation of as-built drawings As-built drawings are compiled in accordance with the Company standards and the drawing register is compiled and maintained as required Management of site activities Plans are implemented in a timely manner to ensure all trades have the necessary setting out information to prevent delays, all resources (direct labour, sub contract, materials, plant) are used efficiently and effectively Health and safety management Ensure all works are being carried out in line with the Company's HSQE procedures, daily H&S briefings are delivered to site staff, site inductions are conducted in accordance with Company procedures, toolbox talks are undertaken in accordance with set targets and site audits/inspections are carried out on a weekly basis Commercial management Records of all work areas are produced wherever there is a deviation from the contract drawings, accurate material take-off's are produced and timely material requisitions are raised, TQ/RFIO/CVI are raised in advance to prevent delays, an accurate daily diary is compiled, actual works are compared with contract documents and quantities reconciled Manage and develop the Trainee Engineers:- ·Manage team/individual performance - short, medium and long term objectives are agreed, associated plans developed and monitored and performance evaluated ·Delegate work to Trainee Engineers - give responsibility to others for discrete pieces of work, agreeing with them targets they need to achieve, advising and supporting them in what they do ·Carry out performance reviews (complete regular reviews of individual performance) ·Coach and mentor Trainee Engineers Working arrangements Develop and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in the services provided by the business to both staff and customers, use resources provided efficiently and effectively and participate in performance management and quality control arrangements, ensure all documentation relating to plant and transport complies with company and statutory requirements Training Develop and improve skills through involvement and participation in formal and informal training and development processes geared to meet the needs of the post and changing business requirements Customer care Promote and provide services that are fair, sensitive and responsive to the needs of customers and in line with company customer care standards This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89954912
