Job title: Court Usher Hours: 37 office hours Location: Worcester town centre Hourly rate: £8.21 per hour, temporary duration (length unknown) My client is a well-known government organisation based in Worcester town centre looking to recruit an Court Usher. Court Usher responsibilities: The is for role of a Court Usher for the Combined Court with some administrative duties as required. You will be working closely with the judiciary by managing the daily hearing lists and working on the main reception desk in the Combined Court (covering both County and Crown court jurisdictions so will be dealing with judges, the legal profession, litigants, jurors, witness and defendants). Duties will include: -Liaising with Court Clerks and accurate filing of court files -Communicate and work closely with the judiciary by managing daily hearing lists -Liaising with Court Clerks, supporting listing and rota arrangements -Working on the main reception desk providing excellent customer service by assisting all court users -Preparing rooms for hearings, trials, meetings, etc -Preparing papers and files for court hearings and meetings -Preparing court documents and routine correspondence -General photocopying and filing -Creating and updating records on in-house computer systems -Data inputting resulting courts accurately, interpreting accurately the information required on a court file -To work to workload targets in terms of throughput and accuracy -Acting as an administrative liaison with internal and/or external sources -Handling counter (face to face), written and telephone enquiries -Collecting and delivering files and bundles to the judiciary and clerks ensuring they have the necessary papers -Creating, updating, distributing and tracking files, bundles, documents, tapes -Creating and/or maintaining databases, lists, manuals; completing documents including standard letters, forms, applications, orders, records, registers, statistics etc. with clearly defined information using electronic and paper systems -Maintaining the Court Library (including e-transcripts and books) -Sorting and delivering lists of hearings for internal and external notice boards -Copy/audio typing, completing standard letters, forms, registers, etc. where the information is clearly defined. -Straightforward drafting such as acknowledgements and receipting, confirmations, court orders, warrants etc -Amending standard instructions, manuals and directories, circulating and distributing documents, journals etc -Opening, sorting, distributing and dispatching post -Collecting and delivering post from appropriate offices Court Usher desired Skills and Experience: -Administrative experience with a good knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office -Good communication skills, both oral and written -Good typing skills For more information on the Court Usher please contact Sarah on or email
