Job Overview The IT Infrastructure Engineer will assist the IT Infrastructure team with the design, development, maintenance and monitoring of the Company’s IT Infrastructure, ensuring it performs as required by the business and remains secure. Network uptime and hardware continuity is a key component of this role. The role will also help our existing IT team in providing second and third line support to our staff. A successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours, be able to drive and own a vehicle. They will be able to work in a team, or alone on projects and must be a self-motivated, technology and solution focused individual with a can-do attitude. Good analytical skills with the ability to recommend solutions to management are a must, whilst keeping up to date with modern technologies so that ideas presented use the most appropriate products. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will liaise with other IT teams to ensure that business systems are designed and maintained to world-class standards. The job role will require to visit and work at satellite offices for short periods and support users remotely. Key Responsibilities  Ensure business solutions are "fit for purpose"  Enforce the use of best practice and documentation  Adhere to software licensing laws, risk management practices and compliance processes (including Data Protection)  Ensure business continuity, primarily by means of hardware redundancy and data backups  Monitor the performance and health of the network, servers, external services, etc.  Additional duties as requested by the Senior Management during and out of business hours Skills  Great problem solving skills and logical thinking  The ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload with many open cases  The ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines with attention to detail  Excellent written, verbal & listening communication skills  Ability to build rapport effectively with colleagues  Great attention to detail  Ability to pro-actively spot issues or needs and propose solutions  Familiarity with Jira and Confluence  Active Directory (2012) inc. GPO management  VMware vSphere  Linux System Installation / Administration
