Overview

Saftey Engineer - London - Attractive - Permanent - Maritime and Defence A Safety Engineer is required to join a global company that specialises in Systems for the commercial and defence maritime industry. Their products include Navigation Systems, Radars Systems, Steering Systems, and Control Systems. The successful Safety Engineer will be part of the Engineering group and will carry out Safety Engineering analysis of control systems adhering to the design safety process. Safety Engineer- Key Responsibilities Carrying out functional safety activities with both internal and customer design teams Providing support to Engineering teams on safety-related design topics Working with Safety Managers to provide evidence for design safety assurance Produce technical documentation to a high standard in accordance with procedures To travel to customer and sub-contractor sites in the UK, occasionally overseas, as required Skills and Qualifications Required for the Safety Engineer Degree, HND, HNC in Electrical/Electronic/Control/Software/Systems Engineering or related Demonstrable experience of working in a safety-related engineering environment Understanding of demonstration of compliance to international standards Ability to understand hardware and software failure modes, causes and effects Some experience in safety/reliability analysis techniques Some experience with hazard identification and analysis Knowledge of FMECA, FTA, Reliability Block Diagrams Ability to relate to a multi-disciplinary systems team within the business Experience in safety assurance of systems or high integrity software UK Eyes Only Security Clearance required - Sole British Citizens Only Desirable Skills for the Safety Engineer Familiarity with the formal safety requirements and analysis Experience of machinery control systems A background within Commercial or Military Maritime engineering Knowledge of Safety requirements capture and negotiation Knowledge od Control Systems Software Development and Human Factors Engineering Knowledge of formal Validation and Verification processes Knowledge of Integration, Test and Fault Diagnosis on complex PLC based systems The successful Saftey Engineer will receive a competitive basic salary, a very good benefits package, a great work life balance, a good pension scheme and investment in your future, your career and professional development.
