Senior Desktop Engineer 6 month contract - £17.50 per hour A large and reputable IT outsourcing company is seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer to handle the requirements of one of their Cambridge based clients. This will be a remote role working across multiple locations in Cambridgeshire. You will be working to roll out and promote the "digital lab" brand, this will involve problem solving, information collection and inventory management to ensure a smooth and seamless roll out of new tech. Knowledge of PC configuration and installation will be vital as well as correct disposal of legacy PC's. Your role will require you to influence existing staff members with the implementation of new support models within a laboratory environment. You will need to be able to write detailed reports and ensure all compliance procedures are met in line with GxP standards. You will need excellent customer service skills as well as being a team player. A working knowledge of windows 7/10 is required. This will be a demanding role and you will need to possess strong technical skills; the right candidate will be fast thinking and be able to learn new systems quickly and be able to automate scripts to complete common IT tasks. You will be working with a range of stakeholders within IS services and you will be expected to demonstrate to these individuals your range of technical abilities and your strong communication skills.
