Overview
Following continuous business growth and expansion at Pavers, we have an opportunity for a 1st Line IT Support Technician to join our IT Support Team at our Head Office in York. We are looking for an enthusiastic technology minded individual or recent IT graduate who has great communication skills to make this role a success. This role is offered as a permanent full-time opportunity 39.5 hours per week and will also include scheduled weekend work on a rota basis once trained and out-of-hours work at times (time in lieu given). Although primarily based at Head Office, the role will occasionally require travel to stores across the UK and Ireland so a driver’s licence will be required. The role of IT Support Technician You’ll assist in the day-to-day on-site and remote IT support of over 1,700 users. You will be the first port of call for retail stores to support them with their EPOS software, till systems, back office systems and other associated infrastructure. When required to travel to stores, across the UK and Ireland, you’ll assist in new store installations and configuration while working alongside our shop opening teams. Our IT teams’ primary function is to provide support to our retail stores, this means you need to have experience working in customer service to assist colleagues who aren’t as confident working with technology as others. Responsibilities include: ? Providing high level, quality and timely support to retail, head office and warehouse personnel. Act as the first point of contact within your team for retail support, including EPOS, Back Office, Tablets and associated store infrastructure. Build strong relationships with end users and members of the IT team. Provide a spontaneous and quick resolution to incidents or service requests within internal SLA. Maintain the help desk including incidents, faults, service levels and response, trends, resolutions. Escalate incidents to the IT Service Desk Manager and team members where appropriate. Supporting the shop opening team, scheduling, provisioning and undertaking new EPOS/Back Office installations. To supply, commission, upgrade and configure Hardware & Software as directed by the IT Service Desk Manager. Document and maintain settings and configurations. Support internal compliance including maintaining Software License Management, PCI Compliance and Asset Management. Carry out duties in accordance with Company and IT Policy and Procedures, contribute to improving and determining standards. Requirements to be our IT Support Technician: Previous IT Support experience or hold an IT related degree. Excellent communication style Professional, friendly and coherent telephone manner. Troubleshooting, diagnostic or IT support skills. Customer service experience. Experience or competencies in Microsoft Technologies. Full clean driving licence (You will have access to the use of a company vehicle when needed). The following experience is not essential, but would be advantageous; supporting EPOS systems, Windows 7, 8 or 10 administration, Exposure to ITSM frameworks, e.g. ITIL, Windows SQL Express & SQL Query, Windows networking TCP/IP, VPN and wireless technologies.
