Overview

3rd Line Support Up to £40,000 (Mid-Level) London The role You will be responsible for the management of all the client's infrastructure, such as (but not limited to) hardware, software, security, network, and peripherals (including telephony). As well as being the technical lead, this role has the responsibility of managing the implementation of service improvements to the organisation and to then hand over the support to the rest of the team. You will also be the technical expert and will handle all 3rd line tickets and provide support to the team with their queries, including their technical development through coaching and providing cross-training/knowledge transfer. Key duties Present any recommendations for new systems and implementation plans including determining scope, costs, and time-scales Work with 3rd parties to supplement the in-house team where needed and ensure that accurate documentation is created for handover back to an in-house team Research and recommend any changes to the overall infrastructure to improve the performance, cost or automation of manual tasks Responsible for the management of the network infrastructure including LAN and WAN Lead the management of the cloud and physical environments in use at the client including responsibility for cost management Ensure backups are performed according to the agreed schedule and that they are verified and recoverable Skills required Local Area Network - network equipment connected to speeds of 10Gbps for faster connection to servers and storage Security - Monitoring and analysing network activity using Dark trace and Cylance. Managing and monitoring local area networks including Guest WiFi networks. Server Software - Azure, Hybrid Office 365, ADFS, CommVault cloud backup service. Virtual Servers - Management, planning and migration of Azure server environments. Virtual Servers - physical host servers with VMWare ESX server 5.5 and Hyper V Shared Storage - hosted on a local EMC VNX5300 SAN. Firewall / URL Filtering / IPS - supporting NXGen Firewalls Monitoring Wide Area Network - 2 x 300 Mbps Colt circuits. Desktop Software-based around Windows 10 and Office 365, Windows Operating System - Windows 10 and previous versions Desktop PCs - Software deployment methods and automating and managing updates and patching of software Skype for Business - Conference facilities using Polycom phones.
