Overview

Role We are looking for a mid-level front-end programmer using primarily JavaScript with jQuery, JSON, HTML5, CSS and Bootstrap. You need to demonstrate a passion for website engineering, as this role will be both technically complex and challenging because of our innovative approach, hence the role also includes an element of technical support and collaboration with Company staff, our assessors and to a lesser degree our customers. This role is ideal for someone living in the area and looking to consolidate their experience learning from an experienced contractor. The Company: We are a Company specialising in fire, water hygiene and health & safety risk assessment software. We have employed and contracted assessors throughout the UK as well as clients that license the use of our products. We currently maintain mobile applications and our own server-based website. The mobile apps perform the data collection in the hands of the Assessors, and the server presents the data via the website, allowing management, control and analysis of the amassed data. You would be joining a small but enthusiastic team currently developing an all new website with new mobile apps, using modern technologies and hosted using AWS. We are part of the way through this process and require a front-end website developer to further development the customer facing website and to grow with system. We are leaders in our Industry Sector and our development strategy of an all new product will enable us to maintain and grow this position. We are based just outside of Newbury on the Greenham Business Park, part of the former Greenham Common Air Base. We occupy part of the first floor of a new office building, with an open plan air-conditioned office environment. Duties: Front end website software development Be a part of a small team environment, sharing ideas and collectively finding solutions and implementing them. Designing and implementing bespoke Customer or sales requests. Document and train staff on new developments Support staff and Customers in the use of new developments. Work towards technical 2nd tier support, assisting and training 1st line. Required skills: Key Skill Sets: HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap JavaScript, especially using jQuery and Node.js MySQL - or some experience of a similar SQL variants JSON and XML General: Proficient mid-level front-end developer Passionate in developing technically sound and aesthetically pleasing website solutions Want to join a Company small in size but with significant influence in its market place.
