We’re Recruiting – Senior / Principal Advanced Analytics Lead We’re looking for a senior candidate (Senior or Principal Advanced Analytics Lead commensurate with candidate’s relevant experiences) specialising in Advanced Analytics to work out of our EMEA headquarters in Hersham, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. This position will provide technical leadership and expertise in planning, designing and delivering Advanced Analytics solutions to meet business, process and technical needs for Europe. The post holder will be responsible for serving as a senior individual contributor and may also play a role as an experienced technology team leader on specific projects or problems of broad scope and complexity. Thus, evidence of previous delivery is material. The candidate is to serve as an internal consultant in the areas of Operational Research (Optimisation, Simulation, Queuing Theory, etc.), Statistical/Predictive Modelling and will be responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge in these key technical areas. Additional expertise in Cognitive and/or Artificial Intelligence is a plus. The person specification in detail The Advanced Analytics team is a highly specialised team of Operational Research and Advanced Analytics professionals that help enable Air Products’ businesses and functions to make more effective decisions leading to increased productivity and growth. This position requires the rapid development and understanding of Air Products’ business areas, functional areas, and organizational structure to enable the ability to analyse and diagnose complex business and process needs. The incumbent needs the ability to quickly and effectively assimilate business and process information and use it to diagnose improvement opportunities. This is an exciting and interesting position which provides the successful candidate an opportunity to generate high industry-impact analysis and solve complex business problems. Your Challenge The candidate must work to communicate with many different levels of the organization and demonstrate the ability to develop relationships with key business stakeholders with a view to identify/understand the business problem, define data requirements, formulate the appropriate solution, provide input on solution interpretation, leverage existing analytics solutions and help to implement the solutions e.g. by mathematical modelling, coding, code reviewing and providing subject matter expertise in the area. The ability to internally network with the businesses and functions and identify opportunities that provide value is important. Minimum Requirements And Qualifications Proven experience at a similar level of responsibility - applying Advanced Analytics techniques such as Optimisation and Mathematical Programming, Simulation, Forecasting, Statistics, Classification, Machine Learning and Clustering techniques. Experience in energy, chemical or materials processing industries is a plus, however we are open to cross industry relevant backgrounds where logistics is the focus e.g. airline industry. Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional and multi-cultural teams. Ability to build strong working relationships with the business and manage conversations at a senior level is essential. Strong project management skills with the ability to influence, work effectively, and manage the execution of solutions in a cross-functional, multi-regional team environment. Excellent communication (English), analytical, facilitation, and networking skills. Should have sensitivity and engagement ability to deliver training to meet the needs of varying cultures and situations. Ability to work independently and within a team to solve challenging problems. Knowledge of AIMMS or other optimisation software is a plus. Several years of experience with any of the following data analysis and modelling languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R, VBA), Predictive Analytics tools (e.g. IBM-SPSS Modeler), Simulation tools (e.g. Simio) and statistical modelling tools other than R and Python (e.g. SAS, Minitab) would be preferred. PhD or Masters degree in Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related discipline. Bachelors level will be considered if supporting experience is in place. There would be scope for this role to be based in our offices in Cornella or Brussels should the candidate have a desire for these locations, however preferred location is Walton-on-Thames as being the headquarters of EMEA Advanced Analytics team.
