Overview
Our client, a global engineering consultancy, is now looking for a Rail Stations MEP Associate for their team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake a lead design role on some of the UK's major Rail projects (both London Underground and Overground projects). Principal responsibilities: Working with client & design teams to assemble a design specification compliant with the Employers requirements, agree its format and content, and monitor and review its preparation ensuring delivery by the due date. Carrying out design through all stages of development (Feasibility to detailed design and handback) to relevant standards ensuring CDM, QA and technical review and sign off by project leader, including complex calculations and co-ordination issues. Reviewing and monitoring the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign off. Ensuring the project team delivers the requisite information to assist with the preparation of the project budget and agree on the budget with the design team. Key skills/responsibilities: Extensive experience of working within a rail station environment and good working knowledge of Network Rail, TfL & LUL standards. Experience of managing multidisciplinary projects and knowledge of rail design assurance processes and be able to maintain good working relationship with existing clients and to develop future business opportunities Technical Knowledge to be able to challenge project teams on outputs/deliverables and also where necessary, client to ensure focus is maintained on defined scope or where scope needs to be modified, renegotiate and agree. Chartered Engineer status with a BEng or MEng degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services engineering disciplines or equivalent.
