Overview
Our client is a professional organisation with a history of staff retention. An unusual opportunity has arisen for someone to join them in a joint payroll and accounting capacity, initially on a temporary basis but with potential for more longevity. This role will take full responsibility for three monthly payrolls comprising around 500 staff and duties will also include; Processing starters, leavers and charges of hours and salaries Monthly RTI submission for all payrolls and setting up BACS payments Payment and administration of monthly statutory returns to HMRC Checking salary details on spreadsheets Administration of year-end tax and NI returns Year end P60s Overseeing one member of staff Bank reconciliations Balance sheet reconciliations General bookkeeping Ad hoc duties The successful candidate will be able to start at short notice and will have strong payroll experience and exposure to all round accounts as well. You will be articulate, professional and will be capable of working to deadlines and mindful of adhering to payroll regulations Strong IT skills are very important and a good working knowledge of payroll systems is essential Whilst this role will be temporary initially, the right person would have a great opportunity at securing the permanent position.
