Overview

This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Gem Partnership who are currently trading as a recruitment agency. GEM Partnership are delighted to be partnering with TMD Friction UK for the role of Senior Group Leader. With over 135 years in the brake friction industry, TMD Friction are a world leading manufacturer of brake friction materials for passenger cars and commercial vehicles and are trusted by the largest brands in the automotive industry. The Role You will be responsible for leading a team of 4 Working Team Leaders, who in turn lead circa 70 Operators, to ensure maximum performance and ensure all operational tasks are completed, utilising all resources available. Primary tasks will include managing a section to achieve KPI targets, including OEE, scrap, OTIF, cost per piece, throughput time, productivity, zero accidents and absence reduction. Other tasks may include recruitment, training, communication and team building. Main Accountabilities Ensure that the team complies with all Health & Safety requirements including workplace organisation, qulity, working methods, risk assessments, equipment, environmental requirements and maintain a high standard of housekeeping. To lead and work alongside the team to achieve operational targets, ensuring best performance from the team, materials and equipment. To monitor the teams performance, instigating corrections actions with the team where performance deviates from standards. To achieve optimal performance from the team’s manpower resource, reporting to the Shift Manager. To maintain effective communication processes together with the Shift Manager, the team and internal customers and suppliers. Ensure conformance to standards through the management and maintenance of SOPs, training documentation, ILU assessments, visual aids and performance measurement and reporting. To provide first aid as and when needed. Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities (PPS), identifying and evaluating potential for change and encouraging team members involvement.
