Software Configurations Analyst Portsmouth IT Permanent Software Configurations Analyst needed for a leading Engineering organisation based in Portsmouth who are looking to employ an experienced Software Configurations Analyst to become a subject matter expert and provide Software Configuration Managements services to the business What the role entails: Some of the main duties of the Software Configurations Analyst will include: Production of Programme Configuration Management Plans Supply guidance and technical expertise to programmes relating to identification of Configuration Items and Computer Software Configuration Items (CIs/CSCIs) Supply guidance and technical expertise to programmes relating to Software Configuration principles and processes Supply guidance and technical expertise to programmes relating to Change Control principles and processes. Establish and maintain Software Configuration Baselines, within the appropriate Configuration Management Tool Administer and support the collation and distribution of Change Proposals/Requests for Impact Assessment Administer and support the collation and distribution of Concessions for Impact Assessment Create and maintain Software Configuration Status Accounting Records including version control and change tracking Conduct Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA/PCA) to ensure Software complies with programme requirements Conduct process audits to ensure programme CM objectives are achieved Provide Support to the Software Release Manager including reviews of software documentation (PTA/PTV/PRN/VDD) Provide and Maintain a Secure Software Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Library facility Provide support to Systems Design Reviews, Technical Review Boards and Configuration Control Boards Provide support and guidance to Asset Management in Systems Solutions Supply guidance and support to workload planning for the programme management disciplines (CM/DM/AM) What you need to be the successful Software Configurations Analyst : In order to be the successful Software Configurations Analyst and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following: An understanding of all Software Configuration Management Policies, principles and processes A professional Configuration based qualification such as CMII certification, would be desirable Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Software Engineering function Hold an ITIL Foundation Certificate or higher An extensive working knowledge MS Office application Be able to work to tight schedules and budgets Demonstrated attention to Detail and Data Integrity.
