Overview
School Medical Administrator An outstanding secondary school in West London are looking for a Senior Medical Administrator for their school. The School This school is an outstanding non-selective secondary school located in the London borough of Ealing. They have been an outstanding school for the last decade and have consistently achieved excellent exam results putting them in the top 5% for student progress. Many of the children who attend the school go to study at Russell brick universities. They have fantastic modern facilities in a university campus layout, extensive IT facilities, large outdoor playing fields and one of the largest post 16 centres in London. The role This role will involve being responsible for the health and welfare of all students, with overall management and administration of the day to day medical room functions. The role will involve: Maintaining an active and regular point of contact for all students, with supervision of the Welfare Officer. Sign-posting students regarding mental and physical needs, co-ordinating and liaising with colleagues, Parents/Carers, Health Authorities, Social Services and other outside agencies. Communicating with parents and carers Planning and delivering relevant and up to date First Aid staff training and producing and overseeing health risk assessments where needed. For day trips – ensure that the trip leader is given a First Aid bag, School Mobile phone and to ensure its safe return to the Welfare Room Advise and train staff in emergency procedures (e.g. Epi-Pen training) that they may be expected to carry out if a qualified person is not available Ensure that processes are in place to ensure that student medication is regularly checked and in date and to make contact with parents/carers to obtain a replacement.
