EMPLOYER: Graduate Landscapes Ltd - Liphook HOURS: Full-time - 40 hours per week plus additional hours as required SALARY: £35,000 - £45,000, dependent upon experience LOCATION: Liphook, GU30 7LG REPORTING TO: Director AND MANAGERS We are looking for a management account to help us drive our business forward. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join an ambitious company and play a key role in our development. The Management Accountant will manage all in-house accounting functions including payroll, VAT returns and preparation of management accounts, as well as reporting to the director and company owner on all aspects of the company’s financial affairs. In addition, the Management Accountant will be responsible for procedures to minimise expenditure and waste. The Management Accountant will also be responsible for preparing accounts for the company owner’s property business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE OF MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT Particular responsibilities will include: - - Advising the directors on the financial implications of decisions taken in the running of the business - Assisting the directors in using financial information to inform business strategy - Obtaining information from managers to assist with accounts preparation and reporting - Giving instructions to managers regarding what is required in relation to accounts preparation and reporting - Bank reconciliations - Preparing cash flow forecasts - Forecasting income and expenditure - Advising directors in relation to controlling expenditure - Preparing budgets - Working alongside and giving support and direction to the purchase ledger clerk - Analysing and reporting on margins - Managing stock - Obtaining data from the company’s sales software to assist in stock management and accounts preparation - Preparation and submission of VAT returns - Preparation and administration of payroll - Preparation of management accounts - Liaising with the company’s external accountants and auditors around preparation of year-end accounts and payment of tax liabilities - Visiting the company’s various shops from time to time, engaging with shop managers and providing direction to them on financial matters and matters pertaining to minimising waste and theft - Liaising with HMRC and Companies House in relation to all returns - Assisting the directors with personnel issues from time to time - for example, chairing disciplinary meetings The post-holder will be expected to carry out other reasonable duties as required from time to time as required by the directors.
