Our Support Workers are focused on active listening, meaningful engagement and ensuring people lead full, healthy and active lives. Berkeley House is a residential service for adults aged 20 with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, complex needs including behaviours that may challenge, restricted mobility, complex health needs including epilepsy. The service aims to implement behaviour support plans with a total communication approach. The staff promote the use of pictorial aids, communication passports and augmented communication aids. People are supported to be as independent as possible and to take part in meaningful activities that enrich their lives. What experience do you need? You don’t need to have experience to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you. You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Maths is also required.
