We are a leading supplier of Garage Plant Equipment, based in the North East and have been established 40 years. We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Multi-Skilled Engineer to service the Tyneside / Northumberland area. Role Info: Field Service Multi-Skilled Engineer - Garage Plant Equipment - North UK & Southern Scotland Covering Northern England and Southern Scotland with occasional trips further afield | £Excellent levels of pay dependant on skills Van, Mobile Phone & Tablet PC About Us: We a leading supplier of Garage Equipment, based in Morpeth, north of Newcastle upon Tyne and has been established 40 years. We supply and install vehicle workshop equipment which we obtain from leading manufacturers and we also provide Maintenance Contract agreements covering the periodic service and maintenance of client’s equipment. Our clients include car dealerships, MOT testing centres, local authorities, motor transport companies, road hauliers etc. An important part of our future planning is the expansion of our engineer team for which we now seek applications from engineers with the ability to meet our client’s needs. Our engineers work from home attending customer sites as required with periodic visits to the company base in Morpeth as and when required. Ideal residential location for this position being in the Tyneside/Northumberland area. About the job: Our engineers work on all types of garage equipment including vehicle lifts, brake testers, exhaust gas & smoke analysers, wheel balancers, headlamp aligners, air compressors, lubrication equipment, tyre changers and other miscellaneous equipment. The Ideal Person will: Have a good working knowledge and experience of installation, maintenance, inspection and breakdown repair activities in a field service environment. Be a multi-skilled mechanical engineer with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical expertise also be computer literate. Be aware of LOLER and PUWER legislation requirements. Be able to install equipment working from manufacturers’ instruction manuals and our CAD drawings. Have knowledge and experience in the installation and maintenance of compressed air and lubrication systems. Comply with regulations applying to Health & Safety in the workplace. Possess a positive "can-do" attitude towards solving customer equipment problems. Be confident and able to work under own initiative. Efficiently process essential paperwork, documentation, reports and follow established procedures. Be flexible and willing to work overtime and occasional Saturday mornings as requested. Occasionally stay overnight away from home. Be self-motivated. Be customer focussed. Have excellent communication skills - dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels. Have a full clean UK driving licence. Once in our employment, and following training, you will be required to attend and pass the Garage Equipment Association Lift Engineer Accreditation Scheme. The Package: Salary: Excellent levels of pay dependant on skills, technical knowledge and experience. Holiday entitlement: 20 days plus Statutory holidays. Facilities: Kitted out van with fuel card, branded work wear and PPE, mobile phone, tablet computer and necessary test equipment.
