STRATEGIC ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORATE / FINANCE EUROPEAN SOCIAL FUND (ESF) PROJECT ACCOUNTANT £34,804 - £38,017 PER ANNUM (PRO RATA) FIXED TERM CONTRACT UNTIL 30TH NOVEMBER 2022 UP TO 36.5 HOURS PER WEEK - PART-TIME / JOB SHARE APPLICATIONS WELCOMED The University of Chester has an exciting opportunity for an ESF Project Accountant, to join the ESF funded Skills for Growth project, based at the Chester Campus. The main responsibilities of the post are to prepare Skills for Growth project financial returns, ensuring compliance with ESF funding terms and conditions, compiling reports for internal and external stakeholders, monitoring project expenditure for University and project partners, and undertaking related duties within the Finance department. The role will involve managing a small team of ESF Project Finance Assistants, developing and implementing financial processes and controls to ensure compliance with funding requirements and University regulations. You will also be responsible for providing financial support and advice to the Project Lead and the University’s Senior Management Team in relation to the ESF Skills for Growth Project, working closely with Senior Project Accountant, other Finance department colleagues and the ESF Project Delivery Team. You must be a qualified CCAB / CIMA accountant (qualified status is equivalent to level 7) or be part qualified, within 12 months of completion. You must have a degree or equivalent qualification (level 6 or higher). Experience of preparing annual accounts, budgets and forecasts is essential and experience of working on projects would be a distinct advantage.
