Overview
Our client are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a broad background in software engineering (both application and embedded software) and a passion for designing and analysing complex systems. You will help in defining requirements for interfacing and security in software systems and connected products and will be based in their Burgess Hill offices. Develop strategies for evaluating business risk from the networking of products Inter-operate, or generate, store or process data Evaluating the risk to customers' business, of malign or accidental disruptions or of allowing parties access to sensitive monitoring data Staying abreast of the technical countermeasures Setting engineering guidelines around the use of these countermeasures Since balancing performance and security in a connected ecosystem is a whole system problem Modelling connected systems Identifying and defining the interfaces between components Defining the requirements for the interfaces and components in terms of performance/function and security They will work with third parties to understand emerging trends in IIoT and Industry 4.0, They will also work with customers and representatives of the wider market, to establish alignment and thought leadership They will consolidate and communicate requirements to product managers Develop implementation guidelines that will be used when improving existing products and designing new ones Skills and Experience Broad background in software engineering - both application and embedded software Experience modelling complex system behaviour Common software protocols used to exchange data in industrial connected systems - for example PLC fieldbus, TCP/IP, web-APIs, pub-sub messaging systems Familiar with technologies for managing identity in networked systems Familiar with use-cases for industrial equipment data - e.g. fault diagnosis or condition monitoring A strong technical foundation Strong communication skills Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad, up to 20% of the time, will be essential Red Recruitment (agency) REDUK This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89664844
