Overview

Role Purpose The Process Analyst is a key role that provides the foundation required to deliver full and accurate automated solutions. The role identifies business processes for automation, performs a vital requirement gathering function, and is an essential knowledge and communication asset to the RPA team. Serves as a liaison between the business community and the RPA team in order to provide solutions to meet user needs. Possesses expertise in the business functions they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT systems and capabilities. Analyses business operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the process automation and manages changes to such specifications. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and RPA team from initial requirements to final implementation. Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge. Key Accountabilities • Perform opportunity assessments to identify and prioritise business processes that are potential and beneficial candidates for automation • Fully and clearly document business processes to the granular level of detail that is required for an automation solution • Create, or help the process owner to create, user acceptance test (UAT) documents, identifying all the process scenarios and their expected outcomes • Work closely with RPA developers to understand and assist with the creation of their solution design, ensuring they deliver a solution that meets the business requirements • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders across the business to define requirements and processes for RPA deployments so that process automation achieves the maximum benefit. Including identifying, documenting and measuring the benefit realisation. • Acting as a central point of knowledge and control for business processes, communicating with the developers, subject matter experts (SMEs) and the business process owners to answer any queries that arise during the development and testing of an automated solution • Working with the RPA Delivery Manager to manage application/process changes, ensuring adherence to QinetiQ change process - scheduling outages appropriately to minimise business impact at critical times. • To keep current with trends, issues and developments within the organisation including digital technologies, service/project methods, process and prices, in order to provide thought leadership, inform business cases and support effective prioritisation of resources for best business benefit. • Responsible to ensure that relevant stakeholders adopt automated processes, through provision of training or guidance material, to promote efficient conduct of business Key Capabilities/Knowledge • Good written skills with the ability to produce clear, detailed and accurate documentation; and the ability to communicate with colleagues, team members, and customers at all organisational levels in a professional and friendly manner • Ability and knowledge to analyse potential RPA opportunities from 'outside/in' perspective • An enquiring mind, the RPA process analyst will be needed to analyse and question existing processes to ensure a full and correct understanding is gained • Good inter-personal communication skills, communicating with subject matter experts, business process owners, and the development team to help ensure the automated solution is designed correctly • Exhibits leadership; takes responsibility and knows what it takes to motivate and inspire a team, self-starting • Robust understanding of business strategy, business management and process management • Excellent technical investigative and analytical skills • Good understanding of business process design • Ability to analyse problems and provide clear recommendations • Strong organizational skills • Able to collaborate with clients, and have a strong desire to excel. • Able to work independently as well as be a team player and to manage own workload • Able to multi-task and prioritise to ensure project deadlines are met whilst resolving critical BAU issues Experience & Qualifications • Previous experience of RPA business process analysis is must, to aid a quick understanding of new opportunities that require evaluation • Experience in requirements gathering, capturing business processes using both existing documentation and process walk throughs with the leads and teams executing the activities • Experience of Business process modelling and production of detailed process design documents; especially with respect to RPA • Experience of delivering RPA project and supporting wider RPA team • Some experience in process improvement approaches such as lean or 6-sigma is beneficial • Relevant degree or equivalent intellectual status • Experience of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels • Experience of creating Business Cases • Good understanding of operation of relevant enterprise applications (e.g SAP, Sharepoint) is preferable • Basic Security Clearance to be held
