Role: Graduate Legal Associate Location: Old Street, London Who we are? How will you add value to the OpenPayd journey? Conducting research into laws and regulations in jurisdictions relevant to OpenPayd’s business. Assisting both the legal and compliance teams with project management, planning and minute taking where required. Assisting the legal team with managing the OpenPayd GDPR programme, negotiating contracts and preparing legal advice. Assisting the compliance team with preparing regulatory reports, investigating suspicious activity, preparing and submitting suspicious activity reports, and compliance monitoring. Dealing with day-to-day legal and compliance queries from the business. Assisting with developing and coordinating employee compliance/regulatory training across OpenPayd’s business. Ensuring all contracts are uploaded to the contract repository and contract records are correct and up to date. Undertaking general administration tasks as required. The ideal candidate will have the following: A degree in a mathematics or finance is preferable or previous experience in financial services in treasury. A degree in law or criminology Excellent attention to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills Keen interest in law, regulation and manging risk An inquisitive mind to investigate matters fully and methodically Must be able to take an efficient, analytical and proactive approach to their work A basic working knowledge of anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing regulations will be an advantage.
