Overview
We are recruiting for a new Design Engineering role which has come in for a local Worcester company. The Role Reporting to the Technical Manager the successful candidate will manage projects across a multi-functional team. Based at our Worcester site they will also be responsible for: Project management and a product design service from initial concept through to final working drawings and part sign-off Specification and design of related component parts Managing projects across multifunctional teams using the internal NPI process Preparing product design specifications and design concepts and presenting these to customers Validating part designs (FEA) and working with test engineers to validate predictions Part approval sign-off and MRP data input Providing technical support to Operations, Procurement, Commercial and Marketing teams Providing support on other projects within the Technical and Production Development team Working with other companies in the platform to co-develop products and systems Undertaking site visits to liase with customers and provide solutions to their problems Suggest solutions and modifications to improve existing product lines Follow through product development from conception to installation on site The Applicant The ideal applicant will have experience in a Design Engineering role and possess the following skills and competencies: Candidates must be educated to HND level, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline Experience in manufacturing and design High level competence in using SolidWorks is essential Excellent IT skills are essential, and candidates must also have project management experience Candidates will have strong analytical, problem solving and decision making capabilities and be highly organised; with good planning and time management skills Advanced communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential, and candidates must also be customer focussed, proactive and 'hands on' Randstad Business Support acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
