Job Description Main Duties * Complete building services mechanical design for Tendering, and secured construction projects. * Attend Client meetings, surveys, and commissioning/site inspections, handovers. Manage project issues and ensure resolution is achieved. * Ensure that Mechanical Designs are in compliance with company policies & Mitie QA procedures. * Develop and incorporate best design practices. * Liaise with other design team members. * Managing the expectations and requirements of the Client team with respect to design. * Cost planning of projects and preparation of tender submittals if required. * Arranging and /or managing all project related design meetings. * Involvement in internal and external design process. * Responsibility for the delivery of projects in terms of time, quality and commercial risk awareness. * Writing design reports & presenting them to managers & Clients. * Managing the design communication process with Consultants and other related third parties within each project. * Continually review contract delivery standards, and work in conjunction with the Client to identify strategic improvements. * Ensure compliance with legislation and statutory testing requirements within all Projects * Ensure use of technical training registers and authorisation registers within areas of responsibility * Ensure project files and all filing is kept up to date and in accordance with QA procedures by contract admin team * Ensure full compliance with industry bodies at all times within areas of responsibility * Ensure the company Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that they are enforced through all areas of responsibility * Ensure compliance with the Mitie Quality Management System within area of responsibility * To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time * To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner * To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required * Undertake Value Engineering reviews. Qualifications * Reliable, flexible and team player. * Driven and motivated and able to prioritise. * Good communicator. * Able to use IES, MS Office and Autocad * Forward thinking. * Project Management skills with respect to Design * Technical Qualifications * Health and Safety management trained including CDM experience. * Microsoft experience user * Knowledge of QMS procedures * Commercial awareness * Customer care/ relationship building skills * Ability to manage and change successfully Additional Information Health and Safety responsibilities * Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times; * Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment; * Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received; * Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system; Information Security * Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities; * Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager; * Report actual and suspected security incidents; Note This job description Is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for this position and the range of duties undertaken.
