Overview
My Client is looking for an Office Manager to join its office in London. My Client designs, manufactures and supplies interior and exterior furniture for clients such as Facebook, Google, Nike and Apple. Role The role will require you to oversee the day-to-day operations of the business. You will be expected to take responsibility of a wide range of tasks, including review of manufacturing profitability, client communication and implementation of systems improvements. Responsibilities Costing and profitability: assess the profitability of orders, products and the workshop by the ongoing review of purchase invoices, overheads and labour hours. Prepare summary management reports. Sales: issue order confirmations and invoices. Respond to client queries in a timely and professional manner Quotations: prepare formal quotes for customers based on email requests Maintain data records of order history and extract information as necessary Order tracking: monitor the progress of product manufacture through ongoing communication with the workshop team. Update systems (Trello / Slack) and clients accordingly Systems: ensure that communication and controls processes are working efficiently and effectively, particularly between the showroom and workshop, and try to improve them whenever possible Other potential areas of responsibility depending on skills and experience: accounting, tax, logistics, payroll, marketing. Skills Recent experience in a similar role and a proven track record Proficient at scrutinising manufacturing costings to see where savings can be made Excellent numerical abilities and a keen attention to detail Strong spreadsheet skils: able to extract, summarise and present key information from datasets in a timely manner. A curious, questioning and professionally sceptical mindset. Keen to dig deep into figures to identify the root cause, e.g. through discussions with workshop employees to identify qualitative factors Willing to adopt a holistic approach with systems, taking into account the full scope of the company's activities and the divergent needs of users. Comfortable with technology. Commercially aware. Always eager to find ways that the company can generate sales, reduce costs / time and make marginal gains. Communication skills. Equally comfortable communicating with clients, management, or workshop personnel Accustomed to working efficiently and independently in a small dynamic team, focusing on the key value-added tasks Organised, versatile and adaptable. Able to keep track of operations proactively and to juggle tasks when priorities changes at short notice. Dependable and trustworthy; embodying the company's caring ethos towards customers. Education and qualifications Degree educated Quantity Surveyor or Accountancy qualifications (CIMA, ACCA) desirable but not essential for smart applicants with the right skills and attitude
