Our global shipping client are currently looking for an Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Manager, to join their team in Glasgow. This position is responsible to provide the general management of the EIA functions to the company’s LNG vessels. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT Education and training as an Electrical Engineer, with proven experience in a managerial role. Experience of LNG vessels, along with knowledge and experience in the marine industry. Knowledge of applicable electrical, instrumentation and automation systems. Familiar with current technology and industry regulations and knowledge of technical operations. Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision-making skills. Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. JOB DESCRIPTION Being the global subject matter expert for operational EIA LNG related matters. Developing Fleet specific strategies and best practices for operating EIA systems on board. Acting as the primary contact for the Vessel Manager/Ship Team on relevant items, advising and troubleshooting on operational issues, when required. Reviewing electrical, instrumentation and automation work plans, including repair and conversion specifications, and conduct inspections to ensure that established maintenance and repair/replacement strategies are being followed. Managing assigned EIA projects including significant repairs, programs, investigations, processes and meetings. Developing and supporting assigned projects, assisting Ship Team with the implementation and completion of agreed CAPEX modification/upgrade items, monitoring implementation. Developing design criteria for the EIA systems. Work closely with New Building Project Department and attending ships sea/gas trials as required. Participate in daily Ship Team operations meetings, monitor and assist with any reported issues/defects as required. Monitoring and analyzing operational reports, identifying trends in equipment failures/defects, overdue maintenance, incidents, etc. Preparing summary reports and making recommendations to improve. Monitoring and advising of changes/proposals applicable to existing and new regulatory/legislative compliance items. Participating in Vessels Risk Review preparation meetings that include monitoring of vessels performance, routine maintenance, critical spares levels, defect reports, dry dock and vessel inspection. Ensuring that the activities pertaining to electrical, instrumentation and automation aspects within the Gas Fleet comply with HSEQ policies. Participating in HSEQ meetings advising on relevant areas and approving incident close- outs Carrying out research and establishment of relevant programs for use within the Gas Fleet. Monitoring and reviewing existing policy documents and submitting recommendations for change. Ensuring that the Engineering Change Management process, pertaining to EIA Systems is adhered to. Providing support and guidance on the understanding of and adherence to company’s management system, strategic programs and applicable software applications. Gather feedback and make recommendations for upgrades to be included for future budgets. Assisting Marine HR with ETO technical interviews, briefing and familiarization for existing and new hire sea-staff, identification and evaluation of training courses. Represent the company at Industry events and seminars. Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority. REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER Competitive Salary and benefits package.
