Overview
An SME distributor of FMCG products require a Buyer / Planner. Applicants will need commercial acumen, negotiation skills, experience purchasing and importing from a Far East supply chain, supplier engagement and the ability to forecast and manage stock. This is a stand-alone supply chain role within a dynamic, and SME sized entrepreneurial business. The Buyer / Planner will be responsible for leading purchasing activity and maintaining strong ties with key suppliers. Negotiation in regards to; price, quantity, lead-times and deliveries will be important aspects of the role, as will the ability to "spot" a deal. The Buyer / Planner will be responsible for purchasing components and finished goods from overseas (predominately in Asia) suppliers, and importing the stock into the UK. An "end-to-end" supply chain role, the Buyer / Planner will also be responsible for inventory planning and forecasting future demand. Specific duties of the Buyer / Planner include: Negotiation with suppliers Monitor stock levels, and forecast levels of demand across SKUs Research alternative suppliers on both a UK and global scale Build solid relationships with existing supply chain partners Maintain Purchasing and Supply Chain related data in MS Excel and company business system Buyer / Planner applicants should meet the following criteria: Buying, purchasing or supply chain experience within a small, or medium sized business Accustomed to working with global suppliers, and importing products from the Far East Commercial acumen or previous negotiation experience The ability to build relationships; internally and externally Strong MS Excel skills; Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP etc. Barclay Meade acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers and is part of Gattaca Plc.
