Overview

Ocean has been engaged to recruit an exciting permanent opportunity to join a leading London-based trading systems vendor. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as a Front Office Developer in a company which heavily invests in its permanent employees and is well-renowned for its excellent, collaborative culture. This company provides an end-to-end solution to automate front office, middle office and back office investment management functions across asset classes on a single platform. Delivered as a hosted service, the solution improves data quality and investment professional productivity, controls risk and lowers technology costs. The ideal candidate will have a predominantly technical background implementing major fund management and/or banking software applications, preferably within a front office environment.They will also have a good understanding of the fund management and/or front-office terminology and operations. Phenomenal, externally-recognised training is given in this role. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance for the implementation of order management and compliance monitoring systems to the asset management industry Provide technical consulting to clients including – installation, configuration, software testing, investigation, database configuration, tracing and performance analysis Provide technical expertise for systems integration Design, develop and customise solutions for client requirements Adhoc travel and will involve spending time working on Client site's both in London and the EMEA region Essential Experience: Expert knowledge of C# (to v6.0) and .NET (to v4.6) OR Java Good working knowledge of query writing, schema design and performance tuning in MS SQL Server or Oracle Experience in DBMS (Database Management System) such as MS SQL Server or Oracle including installation, configuration and development Experience in PL/SQL or TransactSQL (MS SQL Server), Complex SQL, Debugging and optimisation System interfacing and integration Development experience in either of these – Web Services, Crystal Reports, XML Messaging, Excel / VBA, Perl, .NET Experience in either of the order management systems would be an added advantage – Aladdin, Thinkfolio or Charles River, Simcorp, Fidessa Capital Markets experience or financial services vendor experience (Investment Banking, Asset Management, Wealth Management, system vendor) A proponent of collaborative software engineering techniques and methods: agile development, continuous integration, code review or pairing, unit testing, refactoring and related approaches Strong delivery focused approach Track record of working with business stakeholders to deliver requirements Desirable Experience: Strong academic record and a degree with high mathematical and computing content e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics from a leading university Experience of the front office in a trading environment Experience with automated testing tools such as xUnit, MS Test, NUnit, Moq, Rhino Mocks, SpecFlow etc. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of a rapidly-growing technology team in a leading financial services trading systems vendor with an excellent reputation.
