Overview
A public-sector organisation in Liverpool is seeking a CONSTRUCTION category expert to join the expanding team. Your new company A progressive public-sector organisation is expanding their Construction category and as such is seeking an experienced Procurement professional within a sound understanding of the construction industry to take ownership of this growth. Your new role As Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of a small team to enable its continued growth and success. You will work to proactively identify trends in the construction arena and will provide technical advice to senior stakeholders based on your breadth and depth of construction procurement knowledge. You will use your commercial acumen and leadership qualities to make informed decisions about the strategic direction of the team and how best to deliver a first-class service to stakeholders and clients. You will support the development of category strategies and will work to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally. Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to travel around the UK, sometimes with an overnight stay required. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, you MUST have a solid background in procurement within a construction (or highly regulated) environment and have excellent commercial skills. You will have a strong track record in delivering value for money within this category and will be able to demonstrate your knowledge and expertise within construction. You must be able to evidence your experience of improving a process and the consequent savings that were achieved. You will have strong leadership qualities and prior experience in managing a team Flexibility, as travel is required for the role, sometimes with an overnight stay What you'll get in return As well as a highly competitive salary, you could earn a performance related bonus.
